Avalon Whispering Newsletter Welcome to the first Avalon whispering newsletter an exciting time as the energy of Avalon is rising before us. I did propose that the first news letter would come out in December, and as I started to write it, I realised I had more to say than usual, so here it is a little earlier. I expect the newsletter to come out every other month, with updates in between if necessary. I am so honoured to be walking this path and to be walking with so many souls now as the old ways are beginning to return and reawaken so much within us all. Many blessings to you always )O( Avalon Whisperer radio show and podcast I so love going into the studio once a month and going live on air to bring Avalon through the airwaves. The hour long show never seems quite long enough. It is so wonderful to see you on chat and to be able to answer your questions. I am a regular on www.oneworldradio.org.uk and can be found on the second Tuesday at 8pm (GMT). Future guests I have coming on this year will be the wonderful Tylluan Penry in October for a Samahin special and Damh the Bard in December. I really love being able to bring voice to the path of Avalon and help guide those through the mists that seek. It is always my humbled honour to be able to give words to the feelings that so many experience and as long as you want me and the show, I will be there on the airwaves with the ancient wisdoms and the voice of the elders. From the whispers of Avalon book and CD I have gone into the recording studios this week and laid down the Whispers onto CD to bring them to life for you. So many of you have enjoyed me reading them on the radio show and asked for a meditation CD. So I have listened to you, and had a lot of fun reading the words of the Lady and breathing life into them for you as the CD became born. Jaime Black’s album the Wishing well is the beautiful backing track to the whispers and can be bought directly thought her website http://missjaimeblack.com. Her music is outstandingly mesmerising and stirs the memories of the soul. I am so grateful to Jaime for giving me her permission to use her music along with the whispers. From the whispers of Avalon Recently published on the 12th august 2011 the Whispers have been born. The words of the Lady of Avalon weaved from within the mists all lovingly placed within the covers of the book for you to take and allow into your life. New book The becoming of the Priestess I am currently in the process of writing my second book “The becoming of the Priestess “. It takes the seeker from that moment of awakening, when we realise there is more to the world than we are told. To the myths and magic that has filled our life from the moment of birth. The book journeys alongside you answering those questions that you don’t know who to ask. Guiding you when you feel lost and without voice. Walking next to you when you feel alone. From that moment of knowing there is something else to embracing the Priestess within you. The book is due for release next Imbolc (Oimelc) just as the first stirrings of spring are showing in February. Excerpt from The becoming of the Priestess. “The awakening of the Priestess is a birthing through a rite of passage. We have the rites of passage that we travel through on our human path, and also those of the Priestess. If we are not lucky enough to be born into an enchanted family we have to go through those rights as the human before we reach the time that we are ready to be Priestess born. This happens at different times for different souls, but each birthing is as special and valid for each one. The awakening can be painful and lonely as you go through those changes in isolation. But always remember it is a rite of passage that comes through the mists and reaches out to you at a time that you are ready to embrace the hidden truths and knowledge. We can see it in the signs around us and the signals we are sent to help us remember, to awaken and become. For some we have to journey alone and find the answers for the self, not knowing where to look until we stumble upon the answer. Others are welcomed within groups and embrace the teachings as they make sense or until they no longer do. Some awaken at the early age of the child others awaken gradually and some do not wake until midlife. Neither is any more valid or invalid as the other. Working on Sisters of the mists oracle cards. I am currently working with Katie Parfey ( artist) http://www.katieparfey.com in birthing the Sisters of the mists oracle cards. With Katie’s wonderful inspirational art and the words of the lady together we are creating the oracle deck of the nine veils of Avalon to take the seeker through daily inspiration and guidance. We have created the structure and framework of the cards. I am calling on the Lady to give me the words that she would like used and Katie is bringing life to those words throughout the deck. The art work that is coming though is so wonderfully outstanding and I just know you will love them. As we create more I shall share some pictures with you in future newsletters. I am looking at the cards being available next summer, and I shall keep you posted on their progress.
2013 calendar. Katie and I are also working on sisters of the mists calendar for 2013, some of the imagery will be taken from the oracle deck and others will be new just for the calendar itself. Again we are working towards this being available from the summer of 2012. I will keep you updated on its progress.
Sisters of the mists wheel of the year. For those who follow the sisters of the mists path we are collaborating again with Katie to produce a sister’s wheel of the year that will follow the nine seasonal festivals throughout the Avalon year. We are aiming to bring this to you towards the end of 2012. It will be a wonderful guide in picture form of the changing wheel as she turns and takes us through the change of the Earth as we walk our annual path of growth. I am very excited about this and will keep you updated as the wheel comes to life.
Pendants and sigils. I am going to be working with a wonderful silversmith to bring the symbols of Avalon to life in the form of pendants and jewellery. Weaving the life into sacred symbols given by the Lady. These won’t be available until mid next year. But I can promise you that they will hold the magic and mystery of the mists within their very being imbuing the wearer with all the magic of Avalon and her energy as she rises once more into out realms.
Sisters of the Mists New veil and correspondence course. February 2012 Veil teachings begin for those attending teaching workshops in Hampshire and those undertaking correspondence courses. For those souls who wish to walk the path of the Priestess. I am now booking places for next February. Places are always limited to nine and once those places are booked the veil will become closed until the following year. (this does not apply to the correspondence course) Each veil teaching is held on the nearest Sunday to the eight festivals throughout the year. Workshops April 15th 2012 Awakening the Mists ~ from the first call of the soul to hearing the lady of the sacred isle this half day workshop will take you though the awakening and journey through the mists to embrace the Lady and the mystery of Avalon itself.
July 22nd 2012 Finding the path to Avalon ~ Once the mists have lifted and Avalon stands before you, this half day workshop will help you to hold the energies of the ancients and our ancestor priestesses. November 18th 2012 Embracing the shadow of the mists~ as we embrace the mystery of the forgotten ways we learn to harness the power of the shadow of our self and the mists. Empowering the seeker and honouring the lessons within the truth. Each half day workshop is £40 and payable in full at the time of booking. Spaces are limited to small groups of 9. Flame of the mists I first lit the flame of the Mists from a Samhain fire in Glastonbury (Avalon) in 2001. The flame has been held by me and the Sisters of the Mists in their homes ever since. Transferring the flame lovingly and carefully from one candle to the next. Every year at the gathering of the veils in Glastonbury, a new candle is taken to the sacred wells, where it is cleansed within in the running waters of the Tor, charging and empowering it with the energy of Avalon, the lady and of the Hunter. The candle is anointed with oils, dressed with flowers and herbs and held within the flame of the veil fire. Where it transforms from being just a candle and births itself as the Mother candle for the flame of the Mists. Once it has been charged the flame is passed from the old Mother candle to the new Mother candle and it becomes the candle that holds the Flame of the Mists for the coming year. The old Mother candle is released into the fire of the veil and feeds the fire of the gathering. This illumination is the light of the mists, It will help guide and call its sisters home. Through the darkness and when the path becomes lost. It will have a voice that whispers to those who wish to hear. It will guide the seekers who are lost to the shores of Avalon. For those already within the mists it will bring strength to their journey, and of the Priestesses it will bring light to Avalon and the old ways as she rises once more. The Flame awakens the sacred energy of the Sisters of the Mists, bringing us home to the Lady and to the sacred lands of the Elders, where we hold the wisdoms and truths of the Ancient Isle. Allow the flame to burn brightly at this time of awakening and quickening to illuminate the journey of the self and those who are looking for a way through the mists. The Flame holds within it the energy of the Unicorn and dragon of the ancient lores and truths. The Celtic warrior Priestess. You will be sent a tea light that has been lit from the mother candle and holds the Flame of the Mists within it. It will be cleansed with waters from the sacred wells of The White Springs, Chalice Wells and St Nectans Glen before it is sent to you .When you receive this candle you should light it and embrace the flame within your soul. You will use the tealight to light another candle of your choice that will become your Flame of Avalon candle. Each tealight sent is a direct descendant that is birthed from the Mother flame. You will become a holder of the Flame of the mists. Holding the light for Avalon as she rises into our reality once more. We light the Flame of the Mists candle on the darkest night of every month when the moon is of the dark. To bring Light to the darkest night as we find our way home. There is no set rite , ritual or ceremony for the flame of the mists. You may wish to keep it continuously burning ( in a safe container ) or to light it just when you are in attendance. Once the flame has been ignited it also burns brightly within your heart and soul, as you connect with the Holders of the flame and the Sisters of the Mists. If you are unable to light your flame for whatever reason the Sisters will always be holding the flame. You only need to connect to the energy to be within the flames embrace. The lighting of the flame are on the following dates. Gatherings The sisters of the Mists regularly hold open gatherings for those who wish to celebrate the gatherings with us but do not want to follow the path at this time. All paths are welcome as are males and females to the opens. They are held on the Hampshire/ Chichester border (UK) for more details of times and location you will need to email me. It is a beautiful way to bring the energy of Avalon and the earth into your life surrounded in a safe and welcoming environment. There is always the chance of sitting and chatting after the gathering and making new friends as well as connecting with old ones.
